Boris Johnson UK Prime Minister Soundboard
Boris de Pfeffel Johnson (born 19 June 1964) is a British politician and writer. He has been Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and Leader of the Conservative Party since July 2019. He was Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs from 2016 to 2018 and Mayor of London from 2008 to 2016. Johnson has been Member of Parliament for Uxbridge and South Ruislip since 2015 and was previously MP for Henley from 2001 to 2008. He studied at Eton College and Balliol College, Oxford; he was elected President of the Oxford Union in 1986. Johnson was editor of The Spectator from 1999 to 2005 and a shadow minister under Michael Howard and David Cameron.

In the 2015 election, Johnson was elected MP for Uxbridge and South Ruislip. He was appointed foreign secretary after the 2016 EU membership referendum. After May resigned in 2019, he was elected Conservative leader and appointed prime minister. His September 2019 prorogation of Parliament was ruled unlawful by the Supreme Court. In the 2019 election, he led the Conservative Party to its biggest parliamentary victory since 1987, winning 43.6% of the vote – the largest share of any party since 1979. Since February 2020, Johnson has led the United Kingdom's ongoing response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Johnson has been described as "variously evil, a clown, a racist and a bigot" by critics. He has also been accused of sexism, after referring to Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn as "a big girl's blouse" and former prime minister David Cameron as a "girly swot" In 2016, Johnson evoked comparisons (both ideological and physical) with United States President Donald Trump. In 2019, The Irish Times described him as "deeply polarising figure cherished by many older Conservatives but viewed by others as a serial liar and an opportunist" Johnson has praised Trump as president, but disagreed with some of his policies. Upon Trump's 2020 defeat, Johnson said that he had a "refreshing" conversation with the then President-elect Joe Biden. In 2018, Nick Clegg described Johnson as "like Donald Trump with a thesaurus" and Kenneth Clarke said he was a "nicer Donald Trump"
