Alan Robert John James Parrish III is one of the three main protagonists of the "JUMANJI" television adaptation, appearing in every episode. He is an abridged version of the protagonist from the 1995 film counterpart.

The very first time Judy and Peter play The Game, they meet Alan Parrish, who was a little boy when he played the game and got sucked into Jumanji. Unfortunately, Alan didn't know that a clue would appear in the Jumanji eye, and so he didn't read it. As a result he's been stuck in the jungle for the past 23 years without any idea how to get out. Whereas every other kid who has ever played the game has been killed, Alan has managed to survive. He's grown up in Jumanji, barely making it minute to minute. While he's now physically an adult, Alan is still socially the little kid he was when he first arrived.

Alan has a safe house high in the face of a sheer cliff. Inside is 23 years worth of hand-made furniture, as well as the sad toy remnants of all the other children who came to Jumanji but didn't survive. Alan's safe-house, of course, is only safe in comparison to the rest of Jumanji. It could at any second become a most decidedly UN-safe house.

Despite all this, or maybe because of all this, Judy and Peter vow to continue playing the game until they can figure out how to get Alan back home to Brantford.
