Scanners III: The Takeover is a 1991 Canadian science fiction horror film directed by Christian Duguay. The story follows Alex Monet, a Scanner who, after accidentally killing his best friend, seeks control over his abilities in a Thai monastery. Two years later, his adoptive father, Elton Monet, develops an experimental drug patch named EPH-3 to help Scanners suppress their powers. However, Elton's stepdaughter and Alex's sister, Helena Monet, secretly uses the drug, leading her to become unhinged and commit a series of murders. As Helena takes control of Elton's pharmaceutical company and a television network, Alex returns to confront her, culminating in a telepathic battle to stop her from using her powers to harm millions.
