Description: Carry On... Up the Khyber is a 1968 British comedy film directed by Gerald Thomas. Set in 1895 British India, the story follows Sir Sidney Ruff-Diamond, the British Governor of Kalabar, and his wife, Lady Ruff-Diamond, as they oversee the outpost near the Khyber Pass. The British forces, known as the Third Foot and Mouth Regiment, are renowned for their kilted uniforms, which instill fear in the local population. However, the Khasi of Kalabar seeks to undermine this reputation by revealing that the soldiers wear underpants beneath their kilts, aiming to incite a rebellion. The film humorously explores themes of colonialism and cultural misunderstandings, culminating in a series of comedic events as the British attempt to maintain their authority.
