His military genius was showcased in numerous battles, including the famous victories at Austerlitz in 1805 and Jena in 1806, which solidified his reputation as one of history's great tacticians. Napoleon's ambitious reforms, including the Napoleonic Code established in 1804, laid the groundwork for modern legal systems in many countries. His reign, however, was marked by a series of conflicts known as the Napoleonic Wars, which reshaped Europe and led to his eventual downfall in 1815 after the defeat at Waterloo.
